Currently, the basic rate for a website design is:
$25 / hour
(rounded to the
next hour -- so an hour and a half is 2 hours of pay)
This is subject to change at any time and additional fees may
be added based on the complexity of the site, etc.

Adding special features such as photo lightboxes, meebo/Digsby widgets, RSS feeds of blogs, blog software, etc. may incur additional fees if they are used in excess.
Estimates can be given, with the understanding that prices may be re-negotiated if the designs and requests of the client start to become more complex (the thought here being that the more complicated a job gets, the longer it's going to take to finish). If a quote of five hours is given but after hour number four, a new design is needed, the new design may need to be re-negotiated as another 5 hours on top of the 4 already incurred, chalking it up to a grand total of 9 hours. WZDesigns will be as clear as possible and prompt at mentioning when prices/agreements may need to be re-negotiated based on requests or other mitigating factors.

Clients will agree to allow WZDesigns to use a 'snapshot' of their finished website and any unfinished/unselected designs based on said website in the WZDesigns Webfolio page, Deviant Art account, blog, etc., for the promotion of WZDesigns. (Snapshots and designs paid for by the client will not be used for any other website design and only for promotional use. Unused/unpaid-for designs and/or elements remain the property of Web Zombie Designs and may be recycled for our own use, as we see fit.)
Clients may be asked if a discrete "Site designed by Web Zombie Designs" byline may be added to the client's finished website. It would either be a plain text line with a link back to www.webzombiedesigns.com or a small logo image, depending on what the client permits. This is NOT mandatory, but would be sincerely appreciated. :)

In most cases, once the site has been designed and paid for, it will be up to the client to obtain hosting space, a domain name and then get their website uploaded to their host and maintain it later on. It is at this point that the job of Web Zombie Designs is over. If anything breaks after this point, it is the sole responsibility of the client to deal with that. If it worked on our server, that's what the client paid for -- beyond that is not our responsibility.
However, in some cases, post-creation help may be procured from WZDesigns for additional fees. To upload files to your host space and make sure it's all working, WZDesigns may agree to it but an additional minimum flat payment of $25 is required. Why is this? Uploading your site to your server space involves knowing your login and password information, which is generally something only you and your website maintainer should know. The fee buys confidentiality that when the job is done, the login information will be removed from our records and will never be given to anyone else.
Additional post-creation maintenance requests from WZDesigns (i.e. installing new photos on a site, updating content, etc.) will also be subject to additional fees at the same hourly rate unless otherwise negotiated/stated (as flat fees might also be offered depending on the complexity/simplicity of the request). In which case, the login information would need to be kept by WZDesigns, of course.
WZDesigns reserves the right to refuse post-production maintenance, even if post-production maintenance had happened in the past. (This is not my full time job, so I have other factors including other clients' jobs, my full time work, familial obligations, holidays, etc. which may impede such work. I may simply not be available.)

These files remain the property of Web Zombie Designs and will not be given to the client by default. The client may wish to buy the PSD files to be able to adjust logos and such at a later date with a maintainer under their employ. Pricing is subject to the complexity of the files, how many files are being requested, etc. and sale is at the sole discretion of WZDesigns. All PSD files being purchased will not be relinquished until final payment for website and files has been received by WZDesigns. It is an unfortunate truth that some web designers have been undermined by their clients who received such files ahead of time, took them to a cheaper designer and then never paid the original designer for their time, creativity and work. This clause has been added to the agreements to protect WZDesigns from having this happen. Please note that this does not mean that we do not trust you, personally. There is nothing personal about this! It's all about CYB (Cover Your Butt!).

Please note that WZDesigns reserves the right to refuse a project based on the content (we will not do porn sites, sorry, as an example), lack of time versus intended site deadline, etc.
If you supply images for the site, please ensure that you are the copyright holder for the image; if copyright law is broken, it is the site owner’s (your) responsibility to deal with the legal issues. If you need to ask to change material on your site due to copyright issues, please be aware that there might be additional surcharges to do so. I can certainly track down limited stock photography, but it is preferred that the client provide any photos they want on the site.
